BAG-IN-BOX IS A CLIMATE ACTION
The drink's packaging makes up a significant portion of the drink's carbon footprint. When thinking about the drink, also consider the packaging.
The wild popularity of BIB wines continues and Ukko is responding to the demand with a new serving concept. In the Nordic countries, about 150M/l of BIB wines are enjoyed annually. The myth of cheap Bag-in-Box bulk wine has finally been broken. Nowadays, nearly all quality wineries offer their products in ecological Bag-in-Box tap packages.
In addition to a small carbon footprint, the benefits of BIB wines are undeniable compared to traditional glass bottles. Cost-effectiveness, wine preservation, and affordability.
A beverage packaged in a bag-in-box leaves a significantly smaller carbon footprint compared to a traditional glass bottle. The carbon footprint of a bag-in-box is 70g CO2e per liter (glass bottle 675 g CO2e/l).
